Seminar Series Wrap-Up

The recent Smart Strata Community Education Seminars on the topic of ‘Bullying, Abuse, Harassment, Nuisance & Discrimination’ (BAHND) in Strata were a huge success with over 400 Strata Property owners attending throughout the state!

The seminar series travelled throughout the Queensland eastern seaboard holding sessions on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Whitsundays, Townsville & Cairns.

Hosted by Smart Strata foundation Partners Archers the Strata Professionals, key note speakers from the Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management provided practical solutions to firstly identify then deal with BAHND situations. Seminar presentation can be found here.

The Commissioners Office representatives Chris Irons, Ester Blest and Thom Robertson where then joined by expert strata law panellists Frank Higginson of Hynes Legal and Juliette Nairn of OMB Solicitors fielding audience questions ranging from procedural matters through to strata law reform issues.

Joining the panel discussion moderated by Archers the Strata Professionals Partner Grant Mifsud were Archers Regional Managers Kim Cullen, Alex Malancioiu, Wayne Hewitt and Stephen McCulloch offering a strata manager perspective and practical day to day management tips.
